Gordon H. Thompson

MANISTIQUE – Gordon H. Thompson, 60, of 7389W Riverview Drive, Manistique, Mich., died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at his home.

He was born March 21, 1953, in Highland Park, Mich., the son of Woodrow and Esther (Radu) Thompson and graduated from high school in Troy, Mich. He moved with his family to the Boot Lake area in 1971.

From 1973-1975 he served in the U.S. Navy, seeing duty in Greece.

On Nov. 13, 1984, he married the former Joan M. Vallier in Manistique and they made their home here.

Gordon enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the N.R.A., Fishing Club, and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Joan M. Thompson of Manistique; and his brother, Jim Thompson of Milford, Mich.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Thompson.

Per Gordon’s wishes, there will be no services.
