Michigan retirees will meet at Big Bay Oct. 9

COOKS – The Michigan Association of Retired Personnel will hold a meeting on Oct. 9. The meeting will be held at the Big Bay de Noc High School at 11 a.m.

Lunch will be served with a business meeting and program to follow. The program, “Life and Happenings” at Big Bay, will be presented by Dee Dee Thill and Ken Groh.

Zion Lutheran to host ‘Captive Free’ team

MANISTIQUE – Zion Lutheran Church in Manistique will host “Captive Free”, a relational music ministry team sponsored by Youth Encounter, on Oct. 12. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and include music, skits and stories.

The team will also hold an event for residents of Schoolcraft County Medical Care Facility and lead morning worship at the church on 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 13.

Shopko asking local kids to decorate store

MANISTIQUE – Shopko Hometown is currently offering coloring pages for area children. The completed pages will be used to decorate the local store.

Halloween coloring pages are available in-store for children and their families from now until Oct. 31.
