Local women’s club planning Oct. meeting

MANISTIQUE – GFWC Manistique Women’s Club will meet on Oct. 8 at the Comfort Inn. The meeting will begin at noon and feature Karen Skiles, executive director of Habitat for Humanity Hiawathaland.

The meeting is themed “Make A Difference Day” and participants are asked to bring socks and/ or mittens for men, women and children. These donations will be added to the “Sock and Mitten Tree” at the Peoples Store during the holiday season.

GFWC members may pay annual dues at the meeting.

Tickets for the luncheon are $10 and are available at the Peoples Store through noon on Oct. 7. Attendees must present their tickets at the luncheon and no reservations or ticket sales will be accepted after the deadline.
