‘Dig for a Cure’ is back

MANISTIQUE – The Richard Bonifas Gymnasium at Manistique High School will be “dressed in pink” Oct. 2, for the annual Dig for a Cure volleyball fundraiser in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Manistique Emeralds’ varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams will compete against Westwood with action slated to start at 6 p.m.

With both teams and spectators wearing pink, proceeds from the event will be donated to the local breast cancer support and outreach group, Shirley’s Angels. T-shirts will be available at the game for just $12.

All breast cancer survivors will be given free admission to the game.

Spectators will have the opportunity to purchase breast cancer awareness items outside the gym in the hallway, along with purchasing 50/10 raffle tickets and items at the pink bake sale.

Home party vendors are also participating. They include: Miche Bags, Scentsy, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Tastefully Simple, Emma Clair’s and Origami Owl Jewelry.

Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital will be on site with a breast cancer information table.
