Club nets first win of season

In the first contest of the day, Escanaba beat Big Bay de Noc 7-0. There were 4 games that day.

Escanaba’s momentum continued in the second game, when they outscored Manistique, 6-0.

Both the team and coaching staff said they felt the team played a better game – working more as a team instead of 11 individuals.

There were more shots on goal than in the previous games, with attempts by Chris Freeman, Brett Annelin, Zach Wheaton and David Pratt.

Brett Annelin was goalie the first half of the game, with Joe Block stepping in for the second half.

Manistique was victorious in the third game of the invitational beating the Bears 3-1 for the clubs first win. Brett Annelin, David Pratt and Jake Burnis scored the goals. In goal was Jennifer Carlson for the first half with Zach Wheaton filling the second half.

They are at home Sept. 28 against Sault Saint Marie at 1 p.m. They travel on Sunday for a double header to Niagara, Wisc.
