Colorado Yoopers to hold annual picnic

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The annual Colorado Yooper’s picnic will be on Sept. 29. The event will begin at noon in Sterne Park in Littleton, Colo.

Those who have family or friends from the Upper Peninsula who want to attend or get on the list of Yoopers in Colorado, contact coloradoyoopers.com.

The picnic includes a meal, playing U.P. trivia, and prizes. All picnic goers wear a nametag with their U.P. hometown.

The Colorado Yoopers’ new website, coloradoyoopers.com, allows people of the U.P. to contact others who live in the state.

Colorado Yoopers also assist nonprofits of Upper Michigan. To receive funds from the group, submit a request via the website. Requests are reviewed for donation as they are received.

Garden church hosts harvest dinner Oct. 6

GARDEN – St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will hold its annual harvest dinner on Oct. 6, at the Garden Community Building. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and features ham and turkey dinners and homemade pies.

The public is invited to attend. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children over 5. Children under 5 eat free.
