Starting strong, Manistique dominated the match, taking the first two sets with scores of 25-11 and 25-18, respectively.

Down by two, the Indians responded late, taking the third 26- 24 and forcing the Emeralds into a fourth set. Again, a strong start ended in an Emerald victory.

“We were excited to finally have our first home match after being on the road for a couple of weeks,” Coach Amy Nixon said. “In set one we served tough, recording 11 aces as a team.

We got down late in set three, but made a surge at the end which almost finished the match,” Nixon added. “Set four we came out strong to finish our home opener on a high note.”
