GARDEN – Concepcion Oceguera, 94, of 5608 00.25 Road, Garden, Mich., died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique where she had been a patient for the past few weeks.
She was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Lawrence, Kan., and was the adopted daughter of Joe and Felipa Rodriguez. She attended school in Kansas City, Mo.
Concepcion was employed at Kline’s Department Store in Kansas City for many years.
She moved to the Garden Peninsula with her daughter and sonin law 11 years ago.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Garden. She enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed embroidery.
Concepcion is survived by her daughter, Irene (James) Lara- Lemoine of Garden; along with three step-children in Missouri.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Garden with Father Antony Lukka officiating. Burial followed in New Garden Cemetery.
