girls kiCk off season with 3-0 win

ISHPEMING – The Emerald volleyball team started Mid- Peninsula Conference play with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 26-24) win over Ishpeming while on the road last Thursday.

“This match was a great start to finish,” Coach Amy Nixon said. “We exceeded the serving percentage goal we set and kept the intensity up throughout the match.

The stats were close, but mentally we stayed tough and pushed through for the win,” Nixon added.

The Emeralds will host the Newberry Indians in a match scheduled for Sept. 9.
