Ronald L. Heffner
He was born in Gladwin on Nov. 13, 1938, the son of Edwin and Gladys (Eagleson) Heffner. He had lived most of his life in Gladwin County, and following high school, went to work for Dow Chemical Company in Midland. After that, he went to work for Wolverine Camper, where he became vice-president. In 1975 he moved to Manistique, Mich. and opened Hiawatha Real Estate, working until his retirement in 2000. He then moved back to Gladwin.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Cara) Heffner of Traverse City, Mich.; daughter, Kimberly (Dennis) Blaskowski also of Traverse City; four grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Baker, Christopher (Patti) Miller, Elyse and Erica Heffner; four greatgrandchildren, Lilia, Maya and Ellisyn Miller, and Wesley Baker; brothers, Duane (Betty) Heffner of Mancelona, Mich. and Dennis (Micki) Heffner of Scottville, Mich.; sisters, Lois Howell of Gladwin, Beverly (Thomas) Cameron of Durand, Mich., Karen (Tommy) Miller of Kawkawlin, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Heffner; and sister, Judy Caine.
The family received friends on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 2-9 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Dave Amstutz on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m., with visitation at 9 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Ridge Cemetery in Gladwin.
