Local amity group to host first fall meeting

MANISTIQUE – Manistique Amity Group will hold its first fall meeting on Sept. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the Presbyterian Church.

Amity meetings include a short business meeting and often an informative speaker. This month’s program, on safety, will be presented by Roger Irie.

Amity members work on service projects and support local charities; they also sponsor six local blood drives per year.

Concealed weapons board to hold meeting

MANISTIQUE – A meeting of the Concealed Weapon Licensing Board for Schoolcraft County is scheduled for Sept. 17. The meeting will take place in the prosecuting attorney’s office at 10 a.m.

Poultry and livestock swap meet on Sept. 7

TRENARY – The Great Northern Poultry and Livestock Connection will host a swap meet at Holmquist Feed Mill in Trenary on Sept. 7. The meet will run from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

GNPLC members may sell for free. Non-members pay $5 to sell.
