Royal Tallman

Royal Tallman Royal Tallman MANISTIQUE – Royal “Bud” Tallman, 85, of 543N County Road 440, Manistique, Mich., died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.

He was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Sylvester Pool, Wis., the son of Rudolph and Hattie (Wilson) Tallman and was raised in Fairport, Mich. He attended schools on the Garden Peninsula.

On Nov. 11, 1950, he married the former Rose M. Guertin in Adrian, Mich. They have lived in Fairport, Garden and California, moving to Manistique in 1967.

Bud was employed as a commercial fisherman for most of his life, but also worked with the Operating Engineers No. 324.

He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church of Manistique and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2026 of Manistique. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, going to camp, smoking fish for family and friends, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Detroit Tiger fan.

Bud is survived by his wife, Rose M. Tallman of Manistique; children, Randy (Cherri) Tallman of Manistique,

Linda Sue (Ron) Whitman of Manistique, Nancy (Dennis) Dixon of Manistique, Rick (Pam) Tallman of Manistique, Rhonda (Jeremy) Ansell of Garden and Bonnie (Bob) Walters of Manistique; grandchildren, Jodi, Cory, Scott, Holly, Tanya, Amy, Jessica, Shaunta, Brett, Lynnelle, Cassandra, Joshua, Kallie, Kyle and Colton; 24 great-grandchildren with one to be born soon; brother, James Tallman of Marinette, Wis.; sisters, Ann Barbeau and Kathleen Peterson both of Munising, Mich.; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Roger, Burton and Ronald; and sister, Ethelyn Thill.

Visitation will be held from 10- 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Manistique. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., at the church, with Father Glenn Theoret officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church parish center.
