CUPPAD will offer local art minigrants

ESCANABA – Grant money is available through the CUPPAD Regional Commission to assist in funding local art minigrants. In partnership with the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, CUPPAD is the regional re-granting agency for the Central Upper Peninsula.

There are two components to the Minigrant Program for fiscal year 2014: art project grants and professional and organizational development grants.

Art project grants provide up to $4,000 for locally developed, high quality arts and cultural projects. A 1:1 cash/in-kind match is required. Applicants are limited to non-profit organizations, schools, colleges/ universities and municipalities.

Professional and organizational development grants provide up to $1,500 to assist arts and cultural organizations and administrators, and professional artists with opportunities that specifically improve business management and/or bring the artist or the arts organization to another level artistically. These grants can be used to attend conferences, workshops, seminars or to hire short-term consultants.

Applicants to the Minigrant Program must use the MCACA online application at mcaca. egrant.net. Applications must be submitted online by Oct. 15. Grant activity must take place between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, 2014.
