Wallace Bridges Wallace Bridges MANISTIQUE – Wallace “Wally” Bridges, 70, of 549N State Highway M-94, Manistique, Mich., passed away, Friday morning, Aug. 9, 2013, at Soderman’s AFC Home in Escanaba Township, Mich.

He was born Nov. 25, 1942, in Newberry, Mich., the son of Wallace Henry and Aurel Mae (Cole) Bridges and was a graduate of Newberry High School. Following graduation, Wally served in the U.S. Army.

Wally was a heavy equipment operator and an over the road truck driver for many years. His work took him all over the United States where he met and visited with many nice people.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling and coffee clutching with his friends.

Wally is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Joe) Hough of Rapid River, Mich.; sons, Roger (Amanda) Bridges of Wells, Mich., and Wallace James Bridges of Green Bay, Wis.; five grandchildren, Ashley, David, Cody, Robert and Liam; and his former wife and long time friend, Jane Coulier Bridges. He is further survived by his brothers, Pat, Mike, Tom, Garland and Robert Bridges.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce.

Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Messier- Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. A memorial service followed at 4 p.m., with Celebrant Carole Cooper officiating. The Schoolcraft County Veterans presented military honors prior to the service.
