Audrey E. Brady Audrey E. Brady MANISTIQUE – Audrey Emma Brady, 84, of Hiawatha Township, Manistique, Mich., entered eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Schoolcraft County Medical Care Facility.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1928, in Crawford County, Ohio, to Forrest and Gladys Burgin. She graduated from North Robinson High School in 1946 as the Valedictorian of her class. In 1952, she married Hugh Brady from Warren, Ohio. Audrey and Hugh moved to the Upper Peninsula in 1955 after purchasing the old Wagon Wheel Resort on Island and Dodge Lakes. They changed the name to “Brady’s Resort”, and made it a successful business for over 40 years.

Audrey was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer in Manistique and a 4-H leader for many years in Hiawatha Township. Audrey also enjoyed grouse hunting, fishing, baking and playing cards.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh; and her three sons, Larry (Beckie) Brady of Manistique, Brian Brady of Marquette, Mich., and Dwight (Sharon) Brady of Marquette. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; along with her brother Ken Burgin of Manistique.

Audrey was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Curtis of Wetmore, Mich.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer in Manistique. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., at the church, prior to the service. Memorial donations can be made to Church of the Redeemer or the Alzheimer’s Association.
