Courtesy photo CHATHAM – “Send a Kid to MDA Camp” recently raised over $900 in its third annual pistol shoot at the Tri-Range Gun Club in Chatham. The goal of the shoot was to raise $800, the cost to send one U.P. child with muscular dystrophy to the Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp in Green Lake, Wisc.

Currently, 11 U.P. children attend the camp.

Food and beverages and raffle items were provided by local organizations. Awards and raffle items were provided through donation. None of the money raised during the event was used to purchase raffle items.

Awards were presented for first, second, and third place in the classes of masters, expert, marksman and sharpshooter for both revolver and auto handguns. There was also a team event.

Twenty-five competitors participated, raising $911.
