2 p.m. – Enjoy a beachy afternoon of art in the park with special nature stories and your creations.
3 p.m. – Meet the Park Explorer Guide at the beach shelter to create a unique keepsake of your camping stay
Old fashioned Ice Cream Social
2 p.m. – Enjoy a refreshing scoop at the camp host site.
7 p.m. – Welcome author and humorist John Walker to the campground at the host site.
Night Sky Watch
9 p.m. – A variety of objects fill the night. Join the Park Explorer Guide at the beach in front of the Beach Shelter for a light free opportunity to view stars, planets, and more. Bring a comfortable seat and bug spray.
Big Spring History
1 p.m. – Visit with the Park Explorer Guide at Palms Book State Park to learn about regional history on a raft ride over the crystal clear water.
Pet Parade and Dress-Up Fun
7 p.m. – It’s time for your pets to take center stage. Starting from the first bathrooms the parade will loop around the camping area. Puppy Prizes before the walk for Camp Champ and Best in Show.
Michigan’s Only State Fair
The DNR Pocket Park offers fair goers the opportunity to try their luck at fishing, go for a bull’s eye at one of the shooting ranges, take part in a wide variety of other activities taking place, or just sit for a spell under a shady tree or by a waterfall.
