Results for CUP golf tournament announced

NAHMA – Cup Youth Baseball held its seventh annual golf tournament last weekend at the Nahma Golf Course.

The annual tournament is a benefit to help with operational costs and existing costs of the 18-team Cal Ripken sanctioned league in Manistique and the outlying areas.

The weather cooperated and stayed warm as golfers from all around the Upper Peninsula enjoyed a beautiful day of golf for a cause.

Winning first place was team Barbeau with a score of nine under par. The team consisted of Larry Barbeau, Dustin Barbeau, and Colin Harbinski.

Taking second was team Chaperon with the card of five under. Team members were Tom Chaperon,

Mark Chaperon, and Al Schuetter.

Third place was team Headdington with a score of four under. Team members were Rich Headdington, Paul Shope and Kevin Westlund.

Also receiving special awards were:

Dustin Barbeau for longest drive;

Kevin Miller for longest putt;

Larry Barbeau had closest to the pin;

Mike Powers was closest on second shot;

Dustin Barbeau had the shortest drive.

Numerous prizes and gift certificates were also awarded.

Next year’s tournament will be held on July 12, 2014, again at Nahma.
