Explorer Program Schedule
3 p.m. – The woods are filled with creatures roaming Michigan’s UP-join the Park Explorer Guide at the first bathrooms and discover their unique behaviors.
7 p.m. – Make time for trivia walk-get your body moving and mind flowing while discovering the unusual and true found in nature
9 p.m. – Discover the best natural insect remedy and uncover the truth about Michigan’s only flying mammal at the Picnic Shelter.
3:30 p.m. – Visit with the Park Explorer Guide at the beach for a special peek into nature with stories about the wide weld outdoors.
MI Mammal Trivia
7 p.m. – Test your knowledgediscover the unusual and true found in nature at the camp host site.
Big Spring History
12 p.m. – Visit with the Park Explorer Guide at Kitch-iti-kipi at Palms Book State Park to learn about regional history on a raft ride over the crystal clear water.
5 p.m. – Visit with the Park Explorer Guide, discover park history, and take part in a stewardship project at the camp host site.
7 p.m. Special CCC Historian Legendary-Bill Jamerson will share songs and stories about the dollar day boys at the camp host site.
Celebrate Christmas in July
Decorating Delight - Enjoy the week in holiday style-create chalk art or camper decorations to be judged at 8 p.m. on Saturdaywinners will be announced at the Campfire.
10 a.m. – The woods are filled with gifts from nature. Meet the Explorer Guide at the first bathrooms for a closer look at the conifers. Wear your walking shoes and don’t forget the bug spray.
What in the World
2 p.m. – Join the Park Explorer Guide at Palms Book State Park to uncover the mystery of the week.
3 p.m. – Holiday fun is found in sweet sugar cookies. Meet with the Park Explorer at the Beach Shelter to decorate a special cookie of your own.
7 p.m. – Join the Park Explorer Guide at the Beach Shelter and discover new ways to repurpose and make a special ornament.
9 p.m. – Are bats scary, creepy creatures? Join the Park Explorer Guide at the Picnic Shelter and uncover the truth about Michigan’s only flying mammal.
5 p.m. – It’s time to create a special keepsake: join the Park Explorer Guide at the Camp host to craft a unique reminder of your stay at the park.
7 p.m. – As the day ends for some-see who might be walking with a 40 minute walk.
