U.P. Farmers asked to participate in survey

MARQUETTE – U.PFarmers are being asked for their participation in a U.P-wide survey of all farms selling directly to consumers. This survey is being conducted by the U.P Food Exchange, an entity created to connect and support local food activity.

The exchange is led by the Marquette Food Co-op and MSU Extension in conjunction with the Western U.P Health Department.

The group is interested in hearing from all U.P producers, especially those that do not currently participate in the USDA Census of Agriculture.

Information collected from farmers will be included in a larger economic impact study of the local food system.

Famers may take the survey online at www.upfoodexchange.com or call (906) 225-0671, ext. 11 to participate. All participants will be eligible for a chance to win a $400 gift certificate to Tractor Supply.
