The "Main Event" Round One

With coolers in hand, those who had placed orders started arriving promptly at 10 a.m. at the annex of the Zion Lutheran Church on July 5 to receive their live lobsters just flown in from Maine. The Schoolcraft CountyCommunity Foundation, the organizer of the fundraiser, said they were very pleased with the response from the community in Round One of their “Maine Event”. At bottom left: Event organizer Marilyn Pitts-Johnson, along with foundation members, Vicki Hill, Steve Haarman, Richard Johnson, Dean Wood and Jack MacFarlane were all part of the delivery and information team on Friday.At bottom right: Ralph Bjorne waits patiently as Johnson and Haarman prepare his lobster for transportation. The foundation annually awards two grant cycles.
