‘Predator Quest’ star to visit expo

ESCANABA – Les Johnson of “Predator Quest” will make an appearance at the 51st annual U.P. trappers/Outdoor Expo in Escanaba. The event takes place July 12 and 13 at the U.P. State Fairgrounds.

Johnson won the Triple Crown of coyote calling in 1999, winning in the Midwest, National and World Championships. His résumé includes being ranked in the top five, in 30 calling competitions, over the last 15 years.

The Sportsman’s Channel has given Johnson numerous awards for his TV show Predator Quest, the first television series dedicated to predator calling/hunting. He produces 26 television episodes per year and has produced several videos about calling and hunting coyote.

Johnson will share his techniques, methods and tips on set-up, wind direction calls, etc. He will be available throughout the convention for questions.

Other presenters include fox trapper Ron Leggett, dealers, quilters, woodworkers, and more.

Free fishing for children will be available in the Department of Natural Resources’ Pocket Park at the fairgrounds.

Hours for the expo are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Admission is $5 for one or both days and children 16 years and under admitted free.
