Potvin medals at Finals

Photo courtesy Joe LeBlanc COOKS – Cole Potvin headed to Kingsford and earned enough points for Big Bay de Noc to finish ahead of nine schools at the U.P. Division 3 Finals Saturday. Coming off a fifth place medal in the high jump (5-9), Potvin won the 400-meter run with his time of 51.62, then finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.86. He was the only participant on the Black Bear boy’s team.

North Dickinson won the boy’s U.P. Division 3 Track and Field Finals in Kingsford, accumulating 77 points for the day. Pickford came in second with 51 points, St. Ignace 48, Rapid River 47, Bessemer 46, Mid-Peninsula 46, Munising 34, Superior Central 30, Cedarville 23, Crystal Falls Forest Park 22, Lake Linden-Hubbell 22, Cooks- Big Bay De Noc 16, Brimley 16, Grand Marais-Munising Baptist 14, Bark River Harris 14, Wakefield Marenisco 8, Dollar Bay 6, Rudyard 4, Ontonagon 1, Powers 1 and DeTour 1.

Also competing at finals from Big Bay de Noc was sophomore Patience Harris who ran the 3,200-meter run.
