Just last Friday, the Manistique Elks Lodge started its tempting chicken barbecue fundraisers, and this year, with the help of a donation from Graymont Western Lime, they’ll be cooking on a new grill. After years of cooking in low charcoal pits, the lodge acquired a portable grill last year, enabling them to regulate the operation. Graymont recently constructed a replica grill and donated the materials and labor to complete it. Upon receiving the donation, the club removed its last pit. The stainless steel screen cloth for the racks was donated by Carmeuse Lime and Stone. Above, from left, Bill Wedegartner, Paul Scott, Joe Dewinter, Graymont employee Don Bowers and Brian Norton welcome the new grill to the Elks. At right, Graymont employees Don Bowers and Jeff Dishaw are shown working on the grill.
