Betty K. Heible Betty K. Heible MANISTIQUE – Betty K. Heible, 82, of Riverview Drive, Manistique, Mich., died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.

She was born April 10, 1931, in Escanaba, Mich., the daughter of Gunnar and Ellen (Stoor) Flodin and attended Manistique area schools. She was a graduate of Manistique High School with the Class of 1949.

She married Dan Heible at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manistique. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1986.

Betty was employed at Hewitt’s Grocery in Manistique and later as a receptionist/secretary at the office of Dr. James H. Fyvie in Manistique. Betty lastly became the manager of Limestone Federal Credit Union in Manistique, prior to her retirement.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manistique where she held the position of financial secretary for many years. She sang in the Zion choir and was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women’s group. She was also a member of the Schoolcraft County V.F.W. Post No. 4420 Auxiliary. Betty was a very caring, nurturing and loving person who enjoyed bowling, sewing, needle point, reading and travel.

She is survived by her brother, Lawrence Flodin of Farmington, Minn.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold, Elmer, Leonard, Malcolm and Erwin Flodin; and her longtime companion, Donald S. Kujawa.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, May 20, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manistique. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., at the church, with Reverend David Hueter and Reverend Ingmar Levin officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery at Manistique.
