Shelter launches new fundraiser

MANISTIQUE – The Eva Burrell Animal Shelter will be raffling off a “playhouse” as part of a new fundraiser. The structure was constructed and donated by Will Barker of Barker Construction/ Wausau Homes.

The Playhouse is currently on display at 771 E. Lakeshore Dr., Manistique. Tickets are available at the shelter, Thompson Vet clinic, the Pioneer Tribune, People’s Store, Barker/Wausau Homes Construction, mBank and its branch office at Jack’s Fresh Market; State Savings Bank branches in Manistique, Gulliver and Curtis; Limestone Federal Credit Union, Manistique Federal Credit Union, Petique, Aunt Sandy’s, WTIQ Radio Station, and the Advisor.

Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. The drawing will be held on Sept. 21 at the Fall Festival in the Hiawatha Community Center. Entrants do not need to be present to win. The playhouse will be delivered for free, within a 50-mile radius, by Oct. 1.

The playhouse will be displayed throughout the summer at the Manistique Fourth of July parade, the Manistique Art Fair, the Curtis Fourth of July parade, and the Manistique Car Show.
