Eva Burrell shelter to host ‘clicker’ training

MANISTIQUE – Candy Beauchamp will host a “clicker” training for dogs and their owners on May 19. The proceeds from the training event will benefit the Eva Burrell Animal Shelter.

Clicker training is a positive training technique for animals. It is a clear precise way to communicate with animals. Beauchamp has seven years of experience with clicker training.

The trainings will be held from 10-11 a.m., 11 a.m.–noon and 1-2 p.m. at the shelter, located at 6091W U.S. 2. Cost is $20 per dog. In the event of rain, the training will be held at the Schoolcraft County Fair Building.

Those attending must make sure dogs have a properly fastened collar and leash for the training and bring proof the dog is up to date with all shots.

Class size is limited. Contact the Eva Burrell Animal Shelter at 341-1000 or email shelter@upebas.org to reserve a session time.
