Bravo! If you missed “Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.”, you missed a wonderful production from the high school Drama Club and their director, Sherry St. Amour. Up next: Emerald Glee Club performances this Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 28 at 4 p.m.
Kudos to MAS students and staff that recently performed in the Manistique Community Orchestra Spring Concert held on April 21. Soloist, Mindy Hoholik; Colleen Hoholik, Janet Peterson, Jessica Vitale, Parker Birr, Shelbey Saffer, Mary Halpin, and Barb Landis.
Kiwanis Invitational Track Meet has been rescheduled to Friday, April 26 starting at 4 p.m. Eight schools are expected to participate.
The Spring District School Improvement Meeting will be held in the Community Room beginning at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
There will be an Athletic Booster Club Meeting in the high school Cafeteria starting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30.
Soccer League sign-up takes place from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Manistique Middle/High School on Thursday, May 2.
ACT test: Manistique High School will once again offer the ACT Test on Saturday, June 8 at the high school. Juniors are encouraged to retake the ACT, but do not have to sign up for the writing portion. The cost for a student to take the ACT (no writing) is $35. The online registration deadline, without incurring a late fee, is May 3.
Students can pick up an ACT online registration booklet, and “Preparing for the ACT Study Guide”, from Mr. Rochon in the high school office. Our High School Code for the exam is 232410
Considerable changes have been made to spring sports schedules due to weather. Please check the Pioneer Tribune and Advisor for up-to-date times/dates/events.
DARE graduation is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Emerald Elementary Gym on May 1.
Students in Mrs. Sherbinow’s second grade class got into the “wear mismatched clothing” day recently at Emerald Elementary (see above right). It was an activity in support of “No Name- Calling Week”. The mismatched clothing represents the idea that we are all different and should appreciate these differences! Also getting into the spirit of the week was “grandma” Judy Parrish (above left).
Don’t miss the Science Fair scheduled at Emerald Elementary for May 7.
The fourth and fifth grade Spring Concert will take place on May 14 in the Manistique High School Auditorium. The program will be about Monsters, Goblins, and Vampires.
May 4: Prom in the high school gym: Grand March at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium
May 8: Honors Night in the high school Auditorium starting at 7 p.m.
May 14: McCrud Prevention Day in Community Room from 9:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
May 20: School board meeting in Community Room starting at 6:30 p.m.
May 24: High school graduation in the Bonifas Gymnasium
