District school board seeks members
ESCANABA – The Delta- Schoolcraft Intermediate School District Board of Education will have three vacancies as of June 30. Terms of service on the Delta- Schoolcraft Intermediate School District Board of Education are for six years.
A representative from the Bark River Harris, Big Bay de Noc, Escanaba, Gladstone, Manistique, Mid Peninsula and Rapid River School Boards will vote for the candidate designated by their school board on June 3.
The Delta-Schoolcraft ISD Board of Education members serve on various committees including finance, personnel and curriculum, negotiations and policy, legislative relations, and building and grounds committees. Board members also represent the Delta-Schoolcraft ISD at the state and local level through the Michigan Association of School Boards and the Delta- Schoolcraft Association of School Boards. Delta-Schoolcraft ISD Board meetings are held in the evenings, on the second Thursday of each month.
Area residents interested in becoming candidates may obtain nominating petitions at the Delta- Schoolcraft ISD superintendent’s office, 2525 Third Avenue South, Escanaba or at the Delta County Clerk’s office, 310 Ludington Street, Escanaba. A $100 filing fee may be paid in lieu of circulating petitions. All petitions or filing fees must be filed with Nancy Kolich, Delta County Clerk, at 310 Ludington Street, Escanaba not later than 4 p.m., on May 6.
A representative from the school board of each of the Delta- Schoolcraft ISD schools will vote for the candidate designated by their school board.
Those interested must file a nominating petition.
