Women’s club to host ‘Bay Cliff Shower’

MANISTIQUE – The GFWC Manistique Women’s Club will hold its annual Bay Cliff Shower on April 9, at 12 p.m. in the Comfort Inn. Items from the CBC (American Cancer Society, Bay Cliff Health Camp, Community Charity) Bay Cliff wish list, as well as monetary donations will be collected.

Manistique Public Safety’s Roger Irie will give a presentation on “Making Your Home Secure”.

Tickets for the luncheon are $10 and are available at the Peoples Store until 12 p.m. on April 8. Attendees must present tickets at the luncheon. Reservations and ticket sales are not accepted after the deadline. For more information call (906) 450-0049 or 341-2863.

Retired workers plan April 10 meeting

MANISTIQUE – The Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel will meet at 11:30 a.m. on April 10, at Zion Lutheran Church 435 Oak Street.

Lunch will be served. The program, “Ask the Pharmacist”, will feature Mark Rhode, from Putvin Health Mart Drug Store.

A business meeting will follow.

Fused glass class set by arts center in April

MANISTIQUE – A fused glass class will be held on April 27 at the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer.

Beth Cox, area glass artist, will teach the class, set from 1 – 3 p.m. The class is open to teens and adults and cost $50.
