Ernest Anthony Demers


Ernest A. Demers Ernest A. Demers Ernest Anthony Demers, 82, passed away on March 26, 2013. He was born on Sept. 12, 1930, in Manistique, Mich., the son of Ernest Joe and Mildred A. (Popour) Demers.

He was very proud of his time spent in the United States Air Force and retired after 42 years of combined military and civilian service. He enjoyed trout fishing, camping, the Detroit Tigers, and summer trips to Manistique.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Shannan Demers; siblings, Corrine Riis, Robert Demers and Linda Klarich.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Carolyn; children, Eric (Becky) Demers, Kristi Coughran, Brian Demers; grandchildren, Kayla (John) Higgins, J.R. and Jimmy Coughran, Erin and Wesley Demers; great-grandsons, Mason Demers and Kenneth Higgins; siblings, Myrna (Bill) Hubble, Cliff (Diane) Demers; and his little Chiweenie, B.G.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27and Thursday, March 28 at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel in Oklahoma City, Okla. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Military Honors will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
