Students return to school on Monday, April 8.

Kiwanis is sponsoring daily Spring Break activities from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the middle/high school building. On Monday, April 1: Free Open Gym. Tuesday, April 2: Free Open Swim. Wednesday, April 3: Movie at Cinema at 12 and 3 p.m. – Cost is $1. Thursday, April 4: Free Open Swim.

Mrs. Anderson is planning a New York City and Washington D.C. trip for Spring Break 2014. Parents of students in grades 7-11 who are interested in participating, but missed the March 26 meeting, can still contact her at 341-4300 (ext. 224) or by email at sanderso@ manistique.k12.mi.us. This trip promises to be an exciting and educational adventure!

There will be a Coordinated School Health meeting on Friday, April 12 from 12 – 2:15 p.m., followed by a Sex Education/ Reproductive Health meeting. Both meetings will take place in the Community Room of the MS/ HS building, and are open to the public.

Seniors: The Lions International is offering a District 10 Scholarship for students who have a learning and/or physical disability and have a cumulative GPA of a “C” or better. The application deadline is April 15. If you have any questions, or would like an application, please see Mr. Rochon.

Mary McCune, Manistique Lion’s Club president and third grade/Title I teacher at Emerald Elementary, presented a check recently to fellow teachers Stacey Morrison and Deanna Barton. The Lion’s Club matched up to $500 of the money collected at Emerald’s recent fundraiser for Northwood’s Air Lifeline lead by Mrs. Morrison and Ms. Barton.

Youth Conservation Corps job information forms and applications are available in the high school office for the Youth Conservation Corps of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Work this summer for eight weeks, June to early August.

Yooper Hooper will be held April 13 at Manistique High School. Pick up forms at the high school office.

Pigs vs. Punks Basketball Game will be on April 19 at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. Seniors are asked to sign up in the high school office.

Flyers for the British Soccer Camps to be held in June can be picked up in the high school office.
