Cheer season ends at states

LANSING – The season finale wasn’t the outcome the Emeralds were hoping for, but the fact the squad attended a state final tournament was just as rewarding.

The Emeralds qualified for their fourth trip to state finals after taking third place at regional competition in Muskegon.

Manistique finished the day with a three round score of 698.2200 to take eighth place. Michigan Center took first in Division 4 with a score 731.2600.

Also competing in Division 4 from the Upper Peninsula were Munising and Iron Mountain. Musing took fifth with a 717.7400 and Iron Mountain filled the seventh place slot with a 706.4400.
