Potivn was on fire early, scoring 14 of the Bears’ 15 points in the opening quarter. Despite the effort, his team trailed by nine points at the end of the period.

The pace slowed for the Bears in the second. Triples by the Cougars Trevor Maki early in the period help lift Superior Centrals lead to 40-25 at the half.

Coming off the break, the Bears gained a little ground, but eight points, six by Potvin in the final eight minutes of play, sealed their fate.

The Bears who were 19 of 53 from the floor were led by Potvin with 20 points. Tyler DeMars added 12 points, Bobby Holmberg six, Alex Ranquette four, Zach Pomeroy three and Nathan Dalgord two.

With the loss the Bears fall to 2-16, the Cougars improve to 13-6. The two will go at it again in the first round of district action Monday in Cooks.
