MXR Snocross races coming this
weekend for championship series

MANISTIQUE – Michigan Xtreme Racing will make its final stop on the Michigan Snocross Championship Series Tour this weekend in Manistique. Snocross racers from all over the Midwestwill be in Manistique on March 2 and 3 for the final round of the Michigan Regional Championship Series.

Snocross is a form of snowmobile racing, combining big-air jumps and action of motocross winter.

The track will be built in the area across from Lakeshore Shell on U.S. 2.

“We can’t thank the city and Chamber (of Commerce) enough for all their efforts,” said Race Director and Track Designer Tom Gouin. “This is our only regional race in the Upper Peninsula and it promises to be our best event yet.”

Racing begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and continues throughout the day. Spectator entry fee is $10 per person and pit passes are available for $20 per day or $30 for the full weekend of racing.

Registration is still available for all classes and can be completed on MXR’s website.
