Competitive cheer team advances to regionals

MUNISING – The Emerald competitive cheer team will head to Muskegon to compete at regionals Saturday.

The squad competed at districts Feb. 16 in Munising, taking second place in Districts No. 24-4 out of a slate of eight teams.

Posting three clean rounds, the Emeralds finished the event with a score of 701.5000. Munising took first with a team score of 713.8600. Iron Mountain took second with 695.4600 and Norway rounded out the Upper Peninsula squads taking fourth with a 671.6800.
