GARDEN – A four point fourth quarter sealed the fate of the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears Tuesday night at home.

Trailing 15-10 at the end of the first quarter, the Bears put up nine points in the second while shutting down Mid Pen to tie the game at 19 points at the half.

With eight points in the books, the Bears’ Cole Potvin added five more in the third to help lift his team to 33-29 at the end of three quarters of play. With 14 points on the board in the third and momentum in their favor, the Bears mustered just four points in the fourth while giving up 15 to Mid Pen.

Brett Branstrom took control of the game, scoring 10 points in the final period to seal the 44-37 win. He finished the night with 26 points to lead all scorers.

Potvin finished with 13 points, Tyler Demers 11, Zach Pomeroy six, Bobby Holmberg four, and Loren Swayer three. With the loss, the Bears fall to 2-11; Mid Pen improves to 9-6.
