2013 Relic Run

It was an annual event for the young and the old at Jack Pine Lodge north of Manistique on Highway M-94 last weekend, Feb. 9, as they hosted the 21st annual Long Riders Relic Ride for charity. As in years past, the event drew over 300 vintage 1972 and older sleds, who hit the trails in an attempt to complete the 40 mile ride Saturday morning. While they all left Jack Pine it’s not known just how many returned. In addition to the relics, just over 200 modern sleds joined in the ride. All proceeds from the event will be donated to area organizations, with this year’s beneficiaries to be announced soon. At right is Kanton Lauzon with his Johnson Rampage.
