Paulina M. Brown Paulina M. Brown Paulina M. Brown, 82, of 450N River Road, Manistique, Mich., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.

She was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Kipling, Mich., the daughter of Sylvester and Edna (Kauthen) Louis and attended schools in Garden, Mich., and Manistique.

On Feb. 10, 1948, the former Paulina M. Louis married the love of her life, Lloyd W. Brown in Detroit, Mich. They moved back to Manistique in 1952 and raised their family there.

An active member of the community, Paulina was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Manistique and the Schoolcraft County V.F.W. Post No. 4420 Auxiliary. She was a former 4-H and Girl Scout leader.

She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and baking. Most important to her was the time she was able to spend with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Paulina is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd W. Brown of Manistique; sons, James (Jo) Brown of Fairport, Mich., Michael (Becky) Brown of Manistique and William Brown of Manistique; daughters, Bobbi Brown of Escanaba, Mich., Paula (Roger Fritz) of Bark River, Mich., and Susan (Chuck) Butkovich of Engadine, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; brothers, Melvin (Flora) Louis of Redford, Mich., Carl (Jean) Louis of Thompson, Mich., and Myron (Janet) Louis of Saint Peters, Mo.; sister, Muriel (Elmer) Hamiel of Manistique; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Louis and Jack Louis; sisters, Dorothy Robere and Margaret Louis; brother-in-law, Isaac Robere; and sister-in-law, Lorna Louis.

Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Manistique. A mass of Christian burial followed at 2 p.m., at the church, with Father Glenn Theoret officiating.

Burial will be held in the Fairview Cemetery at Manistique.
