Visitation restrictions in place at SMH

MANISTIQUE - Effective immediately, as a result of increasing cases of the flu, Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital is limiting patient visitors to immediate adult family members only.

They are also reminding community members to practice proper hand-washing procedures before and after their visit to the hospital.

Potential visitors who are not feeling well or have cold or flu-like symptoms are asked to refrain from visiting loved-ones at the hospital.

This restriction will remain in place until further notice.

Animal shelter to hold “Soup-er” Luncheon

MANISTIQUE - The Eva Burrell Animal Shelter will begin a new year of fund-raising with their annual

“Soup-er Lunch” on Feb. 10. The event will be held at the Manistique Senior Center located at 101 Main St. in Manistique.

Six plus soups, chili, beverages, and breads will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with desserts donated by the Amity Club. Carry outs will be available.

The organizers will also hold 50/50 raffles.

Donations from the event will help the homeless, but very adoptable animals at the shelter.

Monthly pasty sale takes place Feb. 13-14

MANISTIQUE – The women of Manistique First United Methodist Church will hold a monthly pasty sale on Feb. 13 and 14. The church is located at 190 N. Cedar St.

Supplies are limited, and early orders are encouraged. Call 341-6662 to order or for more information.
