Donald F. Duquette
Donald F. Duquette, 88, of Holland, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Manistique, Mich., and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He retired from BASF after 25 years of employment. Donald was a charter member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Parish. He was a member of VFW Post 4420 in Manistique. Donald loved being outdoors either sailing or fishing. He loved wood carving, painting, and making rugs on his loom. He was a great family man and loved his wife, children, granddaughters, and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha (Rice) Duquette of Holland; his children, Donald N. (Kathy) Duquette of Ann Arbor, Mich., Martha (Rich) Mark of Allegan, Mich., and Debbie (Wayne) Laarman of Holland; three granddaughters; eight greatgrandchildren; sister, Betty Lasich of Manistique; brothers, Jim (Sharon) Duquette of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., and John (Jo Ann) Duquette of Ludington, Mich.; sisters-inlaw,
Bibi Duquette of Manistique, Carol Duquette of
Montana, Jackie (Howard)
Davis of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Marie Duquette in 1958; and three great-grandsons, Zachary, Isaac, and Jacob Den Bleyker
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 480 N 152nd Ave. in Holland
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Ave. in Holland and also on Saturday from 10- 11 a.m. prior to the funeral mass at the church.
Interment will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in Manistique. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Holland.
