EDC small business counseling planned

MANISTIQUE – Small Business Counseling will be offered to those interested in starting or expanding a business on Feb. 5.

The MI-SBTDC partnered with the Schoolcraft County EDC and Michigan Works to provide the free and confidential counseling by Lance Wolf. To schedule a free, one hour session, call the Schoolcraft County Economic Development Corporation at (906) 341-5126.

Civil war camp plans bi-monthly meeting

MARQUETTE – The Albert and James Lyon Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will hold their bi-monthly camp meeting on Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. in the Board Room on the basement level of the DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans, 425 Fisher Street, Marquette, MI.

The camp is composed of Upper Peninsula residents from Brimley to Menominee who have an interest in the Civil War and a commitment to perpetuating the memory of the men who fought to preserve this nation.
