Sister Delores Goudreau

Sister Dolores Goudreau, 84, a member of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc, Wis.

The former Dolores Ann Goudreau was born on Dec. 20, 1928, in Manistique, Mich., daughter of the late Lester and Mary (Akey) Goudreau. She entered the Convent in 1945 and professed her vows in 1948.

Sister Dolores earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Family College in Manitowoc. She served as an elementary teacher at St. Andrew in Manitowoc, St. Joseph in Oneida, Wis., St. Anthony in Marinette, Wis., St. Joseph in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., St. Philip and St. Joseph in Green Bay, Wis., Peter and Paul in Kiel, Wis., St. Mary in Algoma, Wis.; St. Nicholas in Zanesville, Ohio, St. Benedict in Cambridge, Ohio, SS. Peter and Paul in Wellston, Ohio; and St. Francis Xavier, Petoskey, Mich. She also served as a Local Director at St. Mary Convent, West Point, Neb., and San Damiano Convent, Slinger, Wis. After her retirement from active ministry in 2001, she performed various tasks at St. Francis Convent in Manitowoc.

Survivors include The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Holy Family Convent. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial was Rev. Placid Stoik, O.S.F. with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery.

The family greeted relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.

Pfeffer Funeral Home in Manitowoc assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
