SMH appoints two new board members
MANISTIQUE – The Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees recently welcomed two new board members, Marcia TeVelde and Tanya Hoar. Both are now in the first term of a six-year commitment to the board.
TeVelde boasts 15 years of medical case management skills and is the owner of Northern Comfort Specialized Care in Thompson Township. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. TeVelde is also a certified brain injury specialist.
Hoar had previously served 12 years as the chief financial officer for SMH. In September 2012 she accepted a position as CFO at Bay College in Escanaba.
Hoar received her Bachelor of Science in accounting from Lake Superior State University and is currently working on her master’s degree in public administration.

Tanya’s financial expertise and internal knowledge of SMH is a real asset. Tanya has played an integral part in the new building project and we’re happy she will be here with us when we open in the spring.”
The two will take the place of Patrick Rodman and Nancy Irie, who did not seek reappointment.
