With the king and queen crowned, the Lady Bears impressed their royalty with a 42-35 win over Rapid River. It was the team’s first victory of the season.

Trailing 14-11 after the first eight minutes of play, the Rockets lit up the boards for 12 points to tie the game at 23 by the half.

Coming off the break, the Lady Bears took control early, netting 15, while holding Rapid River to just four in the third.

The 11-point margin in the stretch was all they needed to hold off a late rally by the Rockets in the fourth quarter.

Chelsea Thompson and Cassidy Cayemberg led the Bears with nine points each in the win. Samantha Sundling and Rachel Leckson added seven points each, Patience Harris and Holly Severin five points each.
