Marguerite Boudreau

Marguerite M. Boudreau, 92, of Garden, Mich., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming, Mich.

She was born March 5, 1920, in Garden, the daughter of Alpha and Anna (Peterson) Thibault and attended school in Garden. She was a graduate of Garden High School with the Class of 1937 and later attended cosmetology school.

On Feb. 6, 1945, the former Marguerite M. Thibault married George Boudreau, Jr. in Garden. They made their home and raised their family in Garden. George preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1995.

Marguerite was employed at Monroe Auto Equipment in Monroe, Mich., before her marriage and later as a clerk at the Garden post office.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Garden, St. John’s Altar Society, Red Hat Society and 500 Club. She enjoyed playing cards, but especially loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker.

Marguerite is survived by her daughters, Anne (Dr. Hermann) Von Greiff of Marquette and Mary (Kenneth)

Nichols of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Andrew Boudreau of Marquette; son-in-law, Joel Peterson of Fairport; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerard (Alva) Thibault of Garden and Larry (Lois) Thibault of Garden; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Peterson in August of 2011; sisters, Jeanine Halley and Beatrice Pelletier; and her brothers, Harold Thibault and Ralph Thibault.

Visitation was held from 11a.m. to noon on, Tuesday, Jan. 15, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Garden. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at noon with Father Antony Lukka officiating. Burial will be held in the New Garden Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Garden American Legion, Big Bay de Noc School or to Garden Historical Society.
