Relic Riders event set for Feb. at Jack Pine

MANISTIQUE – The Long Riders 21st Annual Charity Relic Ride is scheduled for Feb. 9.

The event will start at the Jack Pine Lodge, located on Highway M-94, 20 miles north of Manistique. Registration will take place from 8:30-10 a.m. and the cost is $5. Break-fast will be available.

Prizes will be announced for registered relics that are 1973 or older. The categories will include: a loud pipe contest, best of show, best antique 1968 or older, most unique and worst of show.

The ride is scheduled to leave Jack Pine at 11 a.m., traveling to D and D Resort in Steuben, then to the Boot Lake Bar, where lunch will be available.

All snowmobiles, regardless of age, are welcome to partici-pate in the ride. As in prior years, proceeds from the regis-tration and raffles will be do-nated to a local charity.

Orchestra seeks new conductor for season

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique Community Orchestra is seeking applications for the position of conductor.

The orchestra has 36 mem-bers with a varying degree of talent and a level of difficulty in the juniorsenior high school range.

The orchestra normally gives two concerts per year and draws performance music from a variety of sources.

Auxiliary plans meet

MANISTIQUE – The Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital Auxiliary luncheon meeting will be held on Jan. 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the Upper Crust CafĂ©.

Registration for the luncheon is available at the Peoples Store until noon on Jan. 19.
