Emeralds looking for more wins in 2013

MANISTIQUE – The Negaunee Miners improved to 6-1 with a win over the Manistique Emeralds during the holiday break.

On fire from the opening tip, the Miners’ Eric Lori put up 27 points in the 82-46 Mid-Peninsula Conference battle that was over early for the green and white. Teammates Tyler Jandron added 17 points, while Tanner Uren put up 11.

The Miners’ lone loss came at the hands of the Marquette Redman.

Zach Lambert paced the Emeralds with 15 points.

With the loss, Coach Todd Kangas wraps up 2012 with a 2-4 record, 1-4 in the Mid-Peninsula Conference.

The Emeralds will be idle until Jan 8, when they play host to the Munising Mustangs.
