Robert L. Lasich
He was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Manistique, the son of John and Agatha (Korenich) Lasich, Sr. and attended Manistique area schools.
During World War II, he served on a destroyer in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre.
On April 22, 1950, he married the former Betty Duquette in Manistique. They made their home and raised their family in Manistique.
Bob was employed at Manistique Papers, Inc. for many years, retiring as a millwright.
He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed visiting with others and always had a good story.
Bob is survived by his wife, Betty Lasich of Manistique; his children, Karen (David) Peterson of Manistique, Bill (Sandy) Lasich of Manistique, and Shelly (Scott) Tyler of Marquette; grandchildren, Greg (Jessie), Nick (Ariel), Erin (Justin), Mike (Amy), Jake, Josh and Jordan; seven greatgrandchildren; three brother-in-laws; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters. Visitation was held from 3-7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, at Messier- Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. A veteran’s memorial service was held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m., at the funeral home with Father Glenn Theoret officiating.
