Christmas of blue



The local Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 146, recently hosted their “Christmas with a Cop” event. Eleven officers from the Michigan State Police, Sault Tribal Police, Schoolcraft County Sheriff Department, Department of Natural Resources, and Manistique Public Safety participated, along with 11 children from local community, ranging in ages from seven to 12 years old. The children were picked up at their homes, taken to breakfast, and traveled to Shopko and shopped for their families and themselves. Afterward, the group was taken to a special movie theater showing. A group of volunteers wrapped the children’s gifts before they returned home. Above, officers pose with the participating children.
